Why don\'t you search at internet for your local insurance agencies or advisors. You can also get insurance protectors.

if you have a mortgage its illegal not to have buildings insurance, as for contents insurance thats optional. i hope you have your house paid off

the same thing happened to a friend of my sister, she did have home insurance but had been cancelled a few weeks earlier and had ended the day before the fire!

Rent a flat. You need somewhere to live and probably cannot get another house immediately.

Was the fire your fault? If it was the fault of someone else (e.g. a plumber doing work in your house burnt it down) then you may be able to bring a claim against them for liability. If it was your fault - why oh why did you not have insurance?

I agree that the best solution now is to rent. That's devastating that you lost everything. I guess the best thing to do at this point is to take a deep breath and start from scratch.
